New Aquaculture Tank Pavilion
Summer 2005.  Construction is underway on the west side of the Reid Medical Science Center for the new Aquaculture Tank Pavilion.  This Pavilion will be a covered, open-air facility containing at least three, large, recirculating, 200-gallon fiberglass tanks. These tanks will be available for students and faculty conducting freshwater and saltwater research.

Proposed Marine Science Research Center
Spring 2005.  The new Marine Science Research Facility being planned is receiving much needed support through a Department of Energy appropriation for $450,000.  This is an addition to the $750,000 appropriations allocated during 2004.  The facility is to be located on the St. Johns River near the Russell Boat House.  The boat house is also scheduled to be enlarged in the near future.  While plans are not final, the marine facility is envisioned as a two-story classroom, laboratory, and office complex with boat dock.  The total cost is estimated at $8 - $10 million dollars.
